Who Am I?
My CV, resume, and list of accomplishments are here for those who care. Honestly, I’m not one to dwell on such things. Yet, sometimes it’s nice to reflect. So, here it is.
This is who I am on paper. I must admit, I had AI help me write this. I just shared my experiences and achievements. I didn’t include some of the big ones, like winning a Music Award in Grade 8 or making the Honour Roll most years. I also earned a Leadership Award at my last corporate job back in 2008.
I won the grade 6 100-meter dash, and 30 years later, I started running again. I was thrilled to finish my first 5 km run in under 30 minutes. I’ve birthed three kids without so much as a Tylenol—two at home and one in a lovely African hospital. At 18, I played the Hayden Trumpet Concerto (all three movements) with the Guelph Youth Symphony Orchestra and was a finalist in many music competitions, though I rarely took first place.
I’ve rescued more dogs from foreign countries than I can count. I have loads of testimonials that I’ll never publish, mostly because I’ve lost track of them. I’ve managed to print some family photos, frame them, and hang them on my walls, which feels like a major accomplishment.
Just last week, I climbed Gros Morne in Newfoundland with my two sisters in under two hours. That’s pretty impressive for three girls born in the 1970s!

My Professional Background
Now, let’s get to the part you might be curious about—my credentials.
I am Tara Kanerva, M.A., a transformational coach, trainer, and founder of TK Coaching Unbound. I have spent over a decade mentoring coaches and guiding clients toward lasting breakthroughs. I blend advanced modalities with a grounded, real-world approach.
I hold a Master’s degree in Humanities and Religion from Wilfrid Laurier University, a post-graduate degree in International Project Management from Humber College, a Master’s in Natural Medicine, and a Bachelor’s in Holistic Health and Sciences. Currently, I’m completing my PhD in Natural Medicine and Holistic Healing.
Before becoming a full-time coach, I lived and worked overseas in humanitarian roles. I taught in classrooms, managed corporate teams, directed educational programs, and supported families as a birth coach. I’ve been hired as a professional speaker, trainer, and facilitator. For a decade, I co-founded and led Inspired Outcomes, mentoring coaches and training practitioners internationally.
I am a highly trained, trauma-informed Master Coach and NLP practitioner with over a decade of experience. My expertise extends to Core Transformation, Compassion Key, Quantum Healing and Wholeness Work. I’ve worked with thousands of clients and students worldwide, traveling internationally to teach, facilitate, and speak.
My Current Work
Today, I am reshaping my work to bring together the collective learnings of my career into my coaching. I’m also writing my forthcoming book and developing a future healing center. My commitment is to offer love, guidance, support, and joy for as long as I can serve others.
Personal Life
Outside of work, I’m a mother of three, an unapologetic forest-walker, runner, and animal lover. I have one dog, three cats, and a history of rescuing dogs from foreign countries. I believe in kindness above all else—and in the magic that happens when skill meets soul.

Reflections on My Journey
Life is a journey filled with ups and downs. Each experience shapes who we are. I’ve learned that accomplishments aren’t just about awards or recognition. They’re about the moments that make us feel alive.
I cherish the memories of climbing Gros Morne with my sisters. It was a reminder that we can achieve great things, no matter our age. It’s about pushing boundaries and embracing challenges.
As I continue on this path, I invite you to join me. Let’s explore the depths of our potential together.
The Importance of Connection
Building connections is vital in our journey. Whether it’s with family, friends, or clients, these relationships enrich our lives. They provide support, laughter, and love.
I’ve found that sharing my story helps others feel less alone. We all have our struggles and triumphs. By opening up, we create a space for healing and growth.
Looking Ahead
As I look to the future, I’m excited about what’s to come. I’m eager to share my insights and experiences through my upcoming book. I hope it will inspire others to embark on their own journeys of transformation.
I’m also thrilled about the healing center I’m developing. It will be a space for people to come together, learn, and grow. I envision a community where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Final Thoughts
Remember, we’re all on this path together. Let’s uplift one another and celebrate our unique stories.
